Prepare the Dough

You need to first prepare the dough. This is necessary for all kinds – steam, pan-fried or deep-fried dumplings. There is a slight change in the cooking style with each kind. After you have kneaded the dough, you can begin with a rolling pin, by rolling out dough pieces of medium thickness, shape, and size. You can, alternatively use a pasta machine if you are not comfortable using a rolling pin.

Line your bamboo basket with a parchment paper or a banana leaf and place your dumplings neatly inside. These should be steamed for 10 to 15 minutes.

Serve your dumplings with the perfect ratio of vinegar to soy sauce. Mix two parts vinegar and one part soy sauce. You can also add thinly sliced chili inside this sauce.
